Switching to ‘create’ mode
Oh, hi friends!
I was reading something the other day. An email, article, post, etc.
And then suddenly I couldn’t bear to read another word.
I felt a feeling in my bones. Or my soul? Probably more like my brain. And it was saying:
That’s enough now.
I’ve written before about the eternal struggle between creation and consumption, and the crucial part is recognizing when it’s time to switch to the other mode.
Sometimes you can consume so much you don’t remember what you’re taking in.
And that’s when you can say to yourself, “My intake is full. Now it’s time to make something instead.”
“To meet on a tiny little platform in the middle of nowhere, all the stars have to align.”
I was charmed by this sweet Vows story about two people who first met randomly at an upstate New York train station, had a nice chat, went on their merry ways, then matched on a dating app four months later — and just got married (at the train station!).
Nancy Meyers couldn’t have scripted it better.
And if the stars align for them, they can align for you, too.
Good Monday Work Vibes
I really liked this dreamy track “Seventeen” by The Midnight (I’ve been known to play the same song dozens of times during a work day. Normal?) I found it via Brass Ring reader Leif Olsen’s new newsletter called The Perfect Soundwave, which sends out 10 new electronic songs every week. Check it out here.
Do you like these daily emails? Please share with a friend!
Thanks, as always, for reading.
Love, Kara
