The magic of routines
Oh, hi friends!
Don’t forget about what’s worked in the past.
Don’t forget your routines or traditions.
Don’t forget the reasons why you started.
Take a pause, perhaps.
But then pick them up again — and watch them work anew.
Some sad news after a difficult time
My boyfriend Colin’s mother, Leola Macdonald, passed away last week after six weeks in the hospital and in the care of a peaceful hospice. She loved her garden — there it is, up above — and of course she loved her family and friends and also books and music and theater. We should all be lucky to live such a fulfilling life.
Here is a wonderful tribute published in today's New York Times, written by her husband, Robert Macdonald (who happens to be a regular contributor of links to this newsletter).
Hold your loved ones close today. And maybe look a little longer at the flowers.
