Playing well with others
Oh, hi friends!
Work with people smarter, kinder, funnier, and more patient than you.
It will feel less like work and more like, well, joy.
“We are all on temporary loan to one another. And loving is just as much about holding on as it is letting go.
The illusion of perfect timing permeates our lives all too often. Like her death, our wedding day is not how I imagined it as a 6 year old, but the most beautiful moments in life never are.”
From this beautiful essay about a love story, a wedding, and a grandma.
If You Missed the Boat the First, Second, Third Time
I’ve been rewatching a lot of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel lately — for good reason! Composer Ron and I spent the last year adapting the show into a musical, and now the second year of the BMI Musical Theatre Workshop is wrapping up and our final presentation of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel Musical is on Tuesday. (THIS TUESDAY. YES. VERY SOON. EEK.)
We’ve been collaborating online and holding class over Zoom. Now ridiculously gifted actor-singers are home-recording three songs and we’re presenting them on YouTube. (That also means we’ll have video to share! Once we’re finished!) Challenges all around, but it’s making the work better.
Anyway! If you need a pick-me-up, watch or rewatch the series or a few episodes. You will laugh or be inspired to dream again. I did. I was.
Oh and that video up top takes you to a fun compilation of the best of Susie Myerson. Enjoy!!
