Stop your doomscrolling
Oh, hi friends!
Have you heard about doomscrolling?
It’s the nickname for when you scroll through bad news for hours and can’t look away.
If I’m honest, I doomscroll a lot more than I think?
When my brain gets tired of writing or editing I naturally click away to something that will distract me. Not make me feel better or more informed. That’s different and necessary. But nope! Distraction without action is usually what happens.
But then I feel worse, more scrambled, and less likely to go back to whatever I was doing.
Admitting it might be the first step?
I’m a doomscroller.
And then the next step:
I can stop whenever I want.
Whoa.
Happy 800th issue of this newsletter! Um, that’s a lot!
Thank you for being here, for reading, and for sharing your own progress. I am very grateful.
Another Movie You Might Like
The Visitor, starring Richard Jenkins, Haaz Sleiman, Danai Gurira, Hiam Abbass. Directed by Tom McCarthy.
(This is the movie that was turned into a musical that was supposed to premiere at the Public Theater in April. :O)
Made in 2007, even more relevant today. Just watch. It has so much heart. Available to stream on Amazon Prime or to rent/buy on Google Play, YouTube, etc. (I use the site JustWatch to find where movies/TV shows are available.)
