It’s follow-up Friday
Oh, hi friends!!
Which email do you keep meaning to send?
Which text needs a response?
Which family member deserves a call?
How many invoices are hanging in the wind?
Follow up today if you can, if you’re able, if you’ve got the time.
Honestly, I might christen every Friday “follow-up Friday” — gives us a time to tie up all those loose ends, you know?
I’m going to follow-up on a pitch from two weeks ago with a gentle nudge, like I outlined in my piece for Forge last week on the art of following up, and make sure I haven’t left anything hanging with anyone else.
Let me know how your follow-ups go, too!
“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.”
This is attributed to Theodore Roosevelt, and shared by my friend Dorie Clark over on Instagram.
So succinct and perfect. Today I’m veering away from “nothing” in order to look for the right thing (or even the wrong thing) in an effort to move forward.
Oh Hello, Are You a Puffin?
You are a puffin! And you live on Seal Island off the coast of Maine.
I’m probably going to watch you for an hour or two today by keeping your window up in the corner of my screen, because honestly, if a person has the opportunity to gaze with wonder at a puffin nestled in a puffin burrow, shouldn’t they take that opportunity? (Thanks to Sarah Pebworth for sending this my way!)
PS — If you'd like some low-pressure accountability in the morning, please join me and my brother Eric for the 10:11 Club — every weekday at 10:11am ET, we're starting our day together and working toward one goal until noon. Join us anytime with #1011club on Instagram or hit reply and share what you'll be working on!
Do you like these daily emails? Please share with a friend!
Thanks, as always, for reading.
Love, Kara
