Send the imperfect pitch
Oh, hi friends!!
I wanted to pitch a story yesterday. So I wrote the pitch, then told myself I would send it.
Wait.
I debated sending it to a friend to read. Or letting it sit for a few hours. Or scrapping it altogether.
But no, no, no. I knew I would chicken out.
So I sent it. Right then!
An hour later I did think, Oh, I should have included this better news peg. Cut another 50 words. Blah blah blah.
But I had sent it! Right then!
And sending it was more important than making it perfect.
(Because we all know it never would be perfect, right?)
Love this. Can you imagine?! I hope this is in the next update.
Meanwhile, why not play your own wrap-up song during your Zooms? I would suggest “Bye Bye Bye” if I was a fan of ’N Sync, but I was Backstreet Boys all the way…

Make! Do! Share!
Sometimes you need to write for no defined purpose. You know? So yesterday I opened a new window and wrote a little 800-word short story! It’s called “Second Word” and it can be found over here in a Google Doc. Thank you for reading, and I hope my sharing might encourage you to share your work with someone else today, too.
PS — If you'd like some low-pressure accountability in the morning, please join me and my brother Eric for the 10:11 Club — every weekday at 10:11am ET, we're starting our day together and working toward one goal until noon. Thanks, as always, for reading.
