Gathering the crumbs
Oh, hi friends!!
I kind of mentioned this the other day, but as I sat here thinking, What should I write about? What has helped me the most lately? The first thing that came to mind was, well, organizing and cleaning up my ancient MacBook desktop.
It seems so minor, but here’s what I didn’t expect: It reduces the barrier to creating every day.
I think, “I kind of want to work on that Idiom play.” So now I go to the folder Plays, then the folder Full, then Idiom, and right there, where I left it, is version 5.0.
I used to save most of my current drafts straight on my desktop. I’d have to search for it and then the search was slow and I’d get distracted by a draft of something else. Forty-five minutes later I’d try to remember what I was doing.
I didn’t know how much harder I was making it on myself.
So that’s what I’m going to try to do today — keep cleaning up crumbs, keep putting things in their place.
You can create order where there is none.
My background: Grandma and Grandpa. And folders for Books, Brass Ring, Fiction, Film, Jobs, Kara Cut Inc, Life/Inspiring Things, Musical Theater, Plays, Poetry, Television, To Read. Everything I need!

Open the doc. Open the blinds. Open your arms.
Stay there, for a second, and breathe.
