Three cheers if you washed your hair this week
Oh, hi friends!
The days pass, the weeks add up.
You are doing so much, both familiar and unfamiliar.
Can you take a moment to consider your achievements so far this week?
Playing catch in Cadman Plaza. Starting and continuing the 10:11 Club. Opening up an old document and imagining new possibilities. Talking to two collaborators. Zooming with family. Washing my hair (perhaps the biggest achievement of all!).
Chipping away at taxes. Researching voiceover microphones. Preparing a monologue. Teaching third grade science. Updating one page of your website. Taking a yoga class. Cleaning your dresser. Washing a load of laundry. Letting yourself mourn. Gathering a coalition. Banging trash can lids at 7 p.m. Watching owlets have a snack. Having a snack yourself.
You are doing so much, both familiar and unfamiliar.
Celebrate that.
If you want something to watch this weekend, there’s going to be a free concert for Stephen Sondheim’s 90th birthday celebration on Sunday night at 8 p.m. ET on Broadway.com and Broadway.com’s YouTube Channel. Meryl Streep and Lin-Manuel and dozens of my other best friends will be there!!!
The Best 58 Seconds of My Life
So much to be learned from this fox, but my biggest takeaway is: Patience, patience, patience. (h/t Colin)
PS — If you need a breather, my dear friend Luisa is teaching a yoga class this Saturday, April 25 at 11 a.m. ET — btw, that’s 5 p.m. Rome time, she’s in Italy! To celebrate Earth Day, the practice will include elemental and TCM (traditional Chinese medicine) inspiration. The cost is $10, paid through Venmo or Paypal @Luisa Fiorino. Follow Luisa on Instagram @the_pithecusae_yogi, Facebook, or email her at fiorinoluisa@gmail.com to say hi, RSVP, and get the Zoom link! I love this ability to connect across countries.
PPS — If you'd like some friendly accountability and a fresh start every morning, please join me and my brother Eric for the 10:11 Club — every weekday morning at 10:11am ET (or whatever time zone you're in!), we're starting our day together and working toward one goal until noon. We'd love to start our morning with you!
Do you like these daily emails? Please share with a friend!
Thanks, as always, for reading.
