Hurry, hurry, hurry…for what?
Oh, hi friends!
For the last few years, I’ve talked a lot about “percolating.”
This is a very specific phase. It’s a phase of churning, consuming, developing.
You’re brewing the coffee, but haven’t poured a cup.
But recently, I had a horrifying thought: Oh no, but what if I just percolate forever? What if I’m never done?
Then, a few weeks later—because things move both fast and slow in this strange brain of mine—I had another reaction: What if I get to percolate forever? What if percolating is the finish line?
Suddenly doesn’t sound so bad to me. Does it to you?

“I’ve always been an entrepreneur. My job is to try and make something that did not exist yesterday.
There’s never been a better time to do what you want to do. Actors always ask me what they should do, and I tell them, You’ve got Instagram! You can act!
I decided to never compete. I’m just gonna create.
Instead of massively saving, I decided I was going to get massively busy. Instead of having one job, I would try to get three.”
Terry Crews is an amazing Renaissance man.
You might recognize him from Brooklyn Nine-Nine, but he’s also an artist, furniture designer, and author. But seriously, his positivity and creativity are infectious.
I talked to him for MONEY about getting out of debt, his best advice to artists and actors, and why he’s never going to retire. I've thought about our conversation ever since. This guy is doing the work.
The morning ends,
I think about you.
I talk to friends,
I think about you.
Here’s Marin Mazzie singing Sondheim’s “Losing My Mind.” You will get chills. Sadly, Mazzie—who was nominated for three Tony Awards in six years—died last week at the age of 57 from ovarian cancer. Broadway houses dimmed their lights last night in her honor.
