How to be more positive
Oh, hi friends!
What would happen if you cut one negative person from your life?
What would happen if you became friends with someone positive?
Well, there might be a few results. (And they’re not the ones you’d think.)
You’ll feel guilty.
You’ll question whether that was the right move.
You’ll debate over finding the right words or using the right tactics. (Is ghosting OK???)
You’ll backslide.
But, ultimately, overall, your life will probably get a little bit better.
Here’s to doing the simple, but not easy tasks.
I am very literal today.
“I know how hard it is to learn a new craft — it takes many a sore ride in the saddle. You get thrown around and beat up and get back on that animal.
It was never a matter of making myself write. It was a matter of being terribly irritated when anything else got in the way.”
I know I’m not the only one who loves Sally Field, and her new memoir In Pieces sounds like a must read. Read this great profile for a snapshot.
Need a laugh? These five minutes of outtakes from The X-Files latest season made me so happy!
And since the show is celebrating its 25th anniversary, here’s a throwback to my Vulture interview with showrunner Chris Carter for the show's 20th anniversary, a conversation which predated the show coming back to FOX—and revealed the insane depths of my obsessive research and fandom. The truth, as they say, is in there.
