I broke all the Wikipedia rules
Oh, hi friends!
Want to figure out where you’re going?
Here’s a little game. It’s one I’ve mentioned before, but which I needed a reminder of this week.
Write your future Wikipedia entry.
This is one way to distill your hopes, dreams, and aspirations. Or it’s a way to uncover them.
Think of it like a vision board for people who are less visually-inclined. Write down what has already happened—where you grew up, your first job, etc.—and what you want to happen in the future. Save it as a Google Doc and come back to it often.
I just reread mine from last year and it provided a much-needed adjustment about what I am doing at the moment and where I spend my time.
Because if this little fake Wiki entry is the future I want to write, I need to make sure I’m doing what needs to be done to get there.
Let me know how it goes.
"Mary Wallace and Athena are brave, and seventeen, and fencers, and training for the Junior Olympics. They practice together, they compete against each other, they spend their lives together. They wish they were friends.”
If you’re looking to see a show, I highly recommend getting over to Brooklyn to see Athena, a wonderful play by Gracie Gardner currently playing at JACK in Clinton Hill. It was a New York Times Critics’ Pick during its first incarnation earlier this year, and is back for an encore run through September 16. I saw it last weekend and loved it! (h/t Sarah Begley for recommending it to me back in February) Follow them on Instagram and you can snag tickets here.

Thanks, as always, for reading.
