Find some space this weekend
Oh, hi friends!
Do you need some space? For your work, for your brain, for your body to simply move around?
Can you find some this weekend? A day, an hour, ten minutes?
Put it on the calendar. For real.
And take it.
Turtle knows how to create space.

What’s the best way to help creative types excel?
Put them to work! Let us assume that the task is writing, something you may be familiar with. The only way to write, say, for television or film, is to write. Hopefully you will be sending that first or twentieth draft to somebody, and if they’re any good, they’ll help you [develop] your craft. It’s process. It’s one [foot] in front of the other.
Barry Diller seems like a tough interview. I liked this Fast Company piece about why he cultivates creative conflict. Funny that even though he’s at the highest level (I think he was born a CEO?) his advice is just...work.
What it means to be a woman in the business of bread.
Hollywood doesn't make movies like The Fugitive anymore. (Until I write one.) (h/t Actor Brother Eric, who watched a Harrison Ford movie every weekend for what seemed like our entire childhood)
Kathleen Turner, in conversation. Amazing.
Wonderful profile of Anika Noni Rose, the star of Carmen Jones, the “messy, dirty, lush, sweaty and human” musical closing on Sunday at Classic Stage Company.
The From Day One conference is a gathering of 200 Founders, CEOs and principals across industries, designed to answer the question: how can we build stronger, more purposeful relationships with our employees, customers and community – starting today? Excited to attend this conference next month in Brooklyn, organized by The Bridge!
