Look out, look out and see what happens
Oh, hi friends!
What are you looking forward to next?
A two-week trip to Japan? Watching The Handmaid’s Tale all weekend? Your lunch hour? Hearing some good news about work? A big race?
I think a lot about these big things—these events from which we skip one by one by one. They give order and momentum to our lives. Focus.
But let’s not overlook the little moments that can surprise you every day. The ones you don’t expect. I can’t even name them! That’s how random and delightful they are. But watch out…they’re around.
…his heart whispered, “Be aware of the place where you are brought to tears. That’s where I am, and that’s where your treasure is.’"
I read the copy of The Alchemist I found in the gutter the other week (I ain't afraid of no city germs!) and it was just what I needed.
“The really frightening thing is if you don’t feel frightened. if you don’t feel frightened, what the hell is the matter with you?”
It pays to read the Playbill, which is where I found these words from Glenda Jackson, who plays 91-year-old “A” in Edward Albee’s Three Tall Women, also featuring the incredible Laurie Metcalf and Alison Pill. It was one of the best shows I’ve ever seen—runs through June, reasonable tickets on TodayTix!
So, asks Glenda, when’s the last time you did something that frightened you—even just a little bit?
