9 tiny things I’m doing ASAP

Oh, hi friends!
What do you do when you run into technical difficulties?
Usually, I want to hit the power button and shut down that spinning beach ball. Here’s how I do it:
— Run (or walk or sweat by any means necessary)
— Close all 12 open Word docs and focus on one
— Find the next smallest action I can take on my biggest task
— Clean my desk—a clear desk is a clear mind
— Wash the dishes—a clean sink is also a clear mind
— Say no to something or cancel one obligation
— Eat something
— Drink something
— Take a shower
Basic and simple tasks are how I help smooth over the ugliest technical difficulties. I’m actually off to do all nine of those right now!!!
“What most of us think of as fear is primarily a mental process of imagining situations that do not exist in the moment.”
HAHAHAHA.
That’s what I did when I read this quote in The Fear Book by Cheri Huber, given to me by my friend Nita Baum. I laughed. Because I saw all the things I fear most—failure, stasis, success, emptiness—are all projections of situations that do not exist in this very moment. So, what is there to fear, really? There’s only right now.

"You can't just be talented... You also have to become necessary to people, by working hard and well and bringing more than your bones and your skin to the project. Don't just show up. Transform the work, yourself, and everybody around you. Be needed. Be interesting. Be something no one else can be...and consistently."
