Are you free? You are.
Oh, hi friends!
What will you do with the gift of today?
Ha ha, Kara, you’re such a relentless weirdo, who thinks of Monday like a gift?
You do. I do. Today. We can. If we want to.
So what will you do?
See a matinee? Play with your kid? Call your parents? Read a book—a real book with a paper cover and paper pages that whoosh when you turn them? Microwave a sweet potato? Catch up on This Is Us? Walk until you smile?
What will you do?
You choose.
“Nothing happens out of order in your life.”
I’ve been saving this one, seen in my Wisdom of Sundays book. Oprah said it. Of course Oprah said it. But just think: what if you treated all the twists and turns in your life not as side avenues, but as necessary detours on a much larger and longer path? Well, boy oh boy, if that isn’t comforting, I don’t know what is!
“You’re on this earth for a dash of time, and that’s it.”
Seeing people like Viola Davis get this vulnerable makes me glad to be alive. (~4:30).
