Branching out from limb to limb
Oh, hi friends!
Sometimes when we get stuck it’s because we put all our porgs into one basket. They don’t like that, you know? Disaster looms. Porgs like their space.
So I’ve been thinking more strategically about how to diversify my options—not in a “throw everything at the wall and see what sticks” way, but carefully, in order to protect myself from future implosions. Like, say, your main client suddenly running out of money. Or getting laid off unexpectedly. Building relationships and starting conversations can lay the groundwork for those far-off moments that seem like they might not happen. But certainly could.
Talk to someone new today. It might help you (or you could help them!) tomorrow.
“It is not in premeditation that we decide what the big, important parts of our lives are, it is doing. Particularly, what we do over and over again. Doing defines our lives, our characters, our relationships—everything.”
