It’s time to slam some doors
Oh, hi friends!
I went to a seminar for actors (and writers and directors) last night, and something the teacher John Dapolito said has been rolling around in my mind all morning.
Sometimes it’s okay for certain doors to close.
Just because an opportunity looks good on paper doesn’t mean it’s good for you.
So what if we stopped applying for jobs we didn’t want?
Stopped pitching stories we didn’t care about?
Stopped working on projects we didn’t believe in?
Stopped sweating through HIIT classes that make us miserable?
Stopped chasing editors we don’t like?
Stopped pursuing careers we know are wrong for us?
It's time to close some doors.
The Post is terrific (and made me want to work in a newsroom again!).
And it all started with first-time screenwriter Liz Hannah. Love her.
Was very charmed by this four-minute look at Greta Gerwig directing Lady Bird. (Can you tell I’m deep into awards season right now?)
