I ask myself this dumb question all the time
Oh, hi friends!
What am I doing?
I ask myself this a few times a day, usually when I’m 13 tabs deep into Chrome, my phone is lighting up, and I have zero idea where my mind has gone.
Or when I’m walking around my apartment listening to a podcast, scrolling my phone, and holding three scarves I was supposed to hang up.
I get so distracted that I finally snap and ask: Wait…what am I doing?
Ah yes. Direction. Clarity. One thing. So simple it’s stupid.
I should go write this question on a notecard and pin it to my desk. But wait a second…what was I supposed to be doing? Oh right. Finishing this newsletter.

Man Kaur is 101, but her routine could tire most 20-somethings.
Every day she wakes up at 4 a.m., bathes, washes clothes, makes tea, recites prayers until about 7 a.m. Sometimes she goes to the Gurdwara, the place of worship for Sikhs, other times she prays at home.
And then she goes to the track for an hour of sprinting practice. And she's not just doing it for fun. A competitive runner, Kaur is a world record holder in her age group for several categories and is now training for the Asia Pacific Masters Games in Malaysia next September...
SQUEAL! A new 101-year-old runner to love! Continually inspired by women like Man Kaur. Thank you Beth Dukes for sending this story my way.
Get Yourself to the Theater!
My talented actor brother (and hardest-working person I know) Eric is starring in a new play called "Waiting for the G." (Anyone who’s ever attempted to catch that elusive train can relate.) Here’s a little preview…
Trey and Quint, on their way to an important job interview, wait for a train that may or may not show up. As they are emotionally and physically worn down by circumstance and eccentric subway denizens, they struggle to find some sense of control, pushing their sanity and friendship to the brink.
Eric plays Trey! There are three chances to see it at the Hudson Guild Theater in Chelsea. Come show your support and laugh your face off:
Monday, January 15 at 6:15pm
Friday, January 19 at 9pm
Sunday, January 21 at 3:30pm
Tickets over yonder. I’m going to the Friday show! Join me?
