Inbox zero nirvana
Oh, hi friends!
A friend sent me a screencap of her phone screen.
It was her inbox.
And it said: NO NEW MESSAGES.
This was thrilling. And it wasn’t even my inbox. It was achievable!
You can accomplish an incredible amount when you’re expected somewhere else. (She was heading out of town.)
And even though Inbox Zero is a false conceit—of course, it will quickly fill up again—it’s still something for which to strive, and which might just help you dance into your days off.
I’m 29 away. How far are you?
“I always think of that beautiful Kafka quote: ‘A book must be an axe for the frozen sea within us.’ I want art to be that axe. I want art to tear through the veil between the dark and the light.”
Such a lovely sentiment from Kathryn Harrison (and Kafka!), taken from Light the Dark: Writers on Creativity, Inspiration, and the Artistic Process.
I’ve been listening to this Eminem and Ed Sheeran song on repeat (from Eminem’s new album) when in a work groove, which is something I never thought I’d say! Nothing against him at all, just usually listening to Liza Minnelli instead. Hey, now that would be a good mash-up...
