The big Monday squash
Oh, hi friends!
How long does your elation last?
A funny thing happens when you run a race, publish a big piece, present at that conference, go on a trip, win that award. You’ve climbed higher and higher and higher…
…and then you’re floating midair. Without that tempting tether to the future, you’re just…kinda…hanging out. Like in Gravity, I guess, which is annoying, because of all of Sandra Bullock’s alter-egos, you really pictured yourself as one of the rom-com heroines, not, like, the astronaut sucking on her last gasps of oxygen…
Inevitably, you fall back to earth. The post-big thing blues set in.
So what’s next?
Oh, that’s the answer, by the way.
To squash the post-big thing blues, the only question to ask yourself is: So, what’s next?
Lin-Manuel Miranda interviewed Stephen Sondheim about finding collaborators and taking risks and much more.
“...you know, it’s the old lesson, you’ve got to work on something dangerous. You have to work on something that makes you uncertain. Something that makes you doubt yourself.”
How will you play with doubt this week?
Watch this. (~2 mins) Then go get your Monday.
