Never-too-late Monday
Oh, hi friends!
You missed a deadline.
You woke up late.
You’re scrambling.
You think…it’s already November…how can I turn anything around when it’s already November?
(The “you” in this case is definitely me, by the way.)
As much as I believe that everything is connected, I also like to think that most of the moments we live in can stand alone. One wrong choice or misstep doesn’t have to cascade into a bad day, week, month…one wrong choice is just one wrong choice.
We make a million decisions every day. (It's true, I counted them.) That's a million chances to decide to be better.
Yesterday, Shalane Flanagan became the first American woman to win the New York City Marathon in 40 years.
“I’ve dreamed of a moment like this since I was a little girl,” Flanagan said, through tears. “It means a lot to me, to my family—and hopefully inspires the next generation of American women to just be patient. It took me seven years to do this. It took a lot of work for just this one moment.”
Patience. Time. Work.
How the New Guy from Stranger Things Landed the Job
Here is Dacre Montgomery talking about his wild audition tape for the Netflix show:
“I remember sending it to my representatives in the States, and they forwarded it on to Netflix and the casting director, and I was thinking: Either I'm never going to work again, or somebody somewhere is going to see one thing in me, and they'll give me a chance.”
Bold choices are the best choices.
