Remember what you've done
Oh, hi friends!
If you're stressed out, you’re gonna love this trick: Remember what you’ve done in the past.
Worried about money? You’ve always figured out how to make more.
Scary new job? You've done everything that's been asked of you before, why not now?
Nervous about networking? Remember how much you dreaded last time, but you started chatting with that stranger who ended up becoming a friend? Do that again!
Unless you’re, like, an infant, there are very few completely and unexpectedly new experiences, which means every event that came before can be applied to one in the present. You just have to remember to remember.
“If you go off into a far, far forest and get very quiet, you’ll come to understand that you’re connected with everything.”
I'll admit that I don't know much about Alan Watts, but I do like the things he said. (h/t Swissmiss)
Another Tool for the Overworked
I mentioned the transcription service Rev last week, but Happy Scribe sounds even better. It transcribes your interviews almost immediately for only 10 cents per minute?! Their slogan speaks to me: "Because transcribing is soooo tedious."
