Monday's magic eclipse
Oh, hi friends!
The sun’s gonna go away for a little bit today.
Cool!
Apparently, certain cultures and, um, yes, astrologers, attach a deeper meaning to an eclipse, highlighting it as a time when you can let go of the past and embrace the light.
So what’s more perfect for a Monday than dispensing all that’s weighing you down and moving forward into a new chapter, brave and unafraid—and hopefully not blind since you definitely won't do anything foolish like directly look into the sun without wildly expensive eclipse glasses or your a constructed pinhole camera you found after Googling "cheap fast eclipse pinhole."
The eclipse can be a fresh start. Or a fun mid-afternoon diversion. Either works.
"When you wake up, and look at your lover or husband, or whatever, that’s a way of honoring your commitment. But then you get out of bed and say another kind of prayer when you sit down at your desk. I wake up every day and say, ‘Yes! I’m a writer!’ When you make that commitment, all sorts of things move toward you. There is a lightness that happens when you answer your calling."
From the queen, playwright Suzan-Lori Parks.
A New Way to Search for Flights
Ooooh. Wanna travel somewhere? This site Adioso lets you search by random location—you can search “anywhere,” domestic or international—or by loose criteria like “Las Vegas any Friday retuning two to three days later.” Sorta genius? It’s so much more flexible and intuitive than other vacation planners. Give it a shot and lemme know where you’re heading.
Thank you for reading.
