A breakfast observation
Oh, hi friends!
So I order a bacon, egg, and cheese from the food cart near my apartment and while I’m waiting, a woman around my age walks up. Before she says anything, the owner hands her a single hardboiled egg with a napkin. “Sorry, I only have a ten today,” she says. “S’ok, not a problem,” he says, counting back her change. She smiles and leaves.
Someone said that when you’re younger, you spend all your time trying to earn money. But when you’re a little bit older, you spend more money to earn back your time.
Couldn’t she boil her own eggs? Sure. But I suspect the convenience of knowing where she’s getting breakfast every morning—and perhaps her nice rapport with the cart owner—makes the small cost worthwhile.
"Sorry to disappoint." Love this so much. It's all about the long game, people.
