The truth behind ‘OMG, I’m so busy.’
Oh, hi friends!
I was talking to my friend Jonathan about the difference between a great week and a not-so-great week.
I said a great week happens when you’re really busy — you wake up in the morning and know exactly what is expected of you.
But he trumped me. It’s not about being busy, he said, it’s about being active.
And then I yelled THAT’S GOING IN THE NEWSLETTER.
Because while we can all be “busy” running errands or answering emails or cleaning up messes, you probably wouldn't call any of those activities being “active.”
Active means you’re making progress on things that matter.
So next time you say you’re so swamped, consider: Are you being busy or active?

Compelling read: I stopped and read this entire feature of pro runner and cancer survivor Gabriele Grunewald while standing on a street corner in Chelsea. If you don’t already follow her Instagram, you should. (h/t Marissa)
Tip for phone interviews: Take notes. Seriously, type up everything the person says.
