Monday fire
Oh, hi friends!
Trying to make a tough decision? Don’t know which to choose?
Why not both?
You can train for a race and see your friends. You can take a night or online class and keep your day job. You can start a business and keep up with all the fancy restaurant openings. You can do yoga in the morning and get to work on time. Why not both? Why not all? Why not everything?
Maybe it’s because it’s summer — the season of sunny abundance! — but I’m feeling the faith that whatever it is, you can do both. If you want to. Do you?

You must plant one foot into the earth
deep enough to make a moat.
But keep the other on a steady surface:
marble, glass, or best, concrete.
Consider this an anchor
your toes the flukes
your heels the fat weight
your arch a gap of breath.
Steady your split attention
moat anchor moat anchor,
but if you have to choose,
choose earth.
For it will give,
and allow you to dig,
as much as you please.
Procrastination: A Horrifying How-to Guide
“Errands are so effective at killing great projects that a lot of people use them for that purpose. Someone who has decided to write a novel, for example, will suddenly find that the house needs cleaning. People who fail to write novels don't do it by sitting in front of a blank page for days without writing anything. They do it by feeding the cat, going out to buy something they need for their apartment, meeting a friend for coffee, checking email. 'I don't have time to work,' they say. And they don't; they've made sure of that.'" From Silicon Valley dude Paul Graham.
