Freedom to cut the crap
Oh, hi friends!
We can focus on what we want to bring into our lives. But what about auditing what needs to go? And so on this Wednesday, I’m saying…
Goodbye, cynicism. Goodbye, sarcasm. Goodbye, procrastination. Goodbye, rock and a hard place. Goodbye, low rates. Goodbye, dead-end paths. Goodbye, emails I say I’ll respond to but actually never will. Goodbye, healthy eating 100% of the time. Goodbye, being angry at the heat. Goodbye, frugality. Goodbye, banality. Goodbye, outside influence. Goodbye, Twitter scrolling. Goodbye, books I have no desire to read. Goodbye, dead plants. Goodbye, complaints. Bye, bye, bye.
Ahhh.
*deep sigh*
That feels nice.
Is there something that needs a goodbye from you?
"Ananya, who is a sixth grader at Fugman Elementary School in Fresno, said she studied about two hours a day for a year. In particular, she said, she analyzed the roots of words."
So that's how you become the National Spelling Bee winner (she happens to live an hour away from my hometown!). Also a good lesson in becoming an expert at whatever you choose. Two hours a day. For a year.
“How do I move the needle?" Screenwriter Dustin Lance Black on how he structures his stories. Everyone’s process is different, but this is helpful for anyone trying to break down a major project. (Off to Staples to buy more notecards.)
Thank you for reading.
