I was pinging between tasks—respond to this editor, answer text, decide which play to submit—when I had a rare moment of clarity, and asked:
What am I doing now? And what am I doing next?
Suddenly, focus.
The Now became the only thing, but the Next made the Now urgent. (Love a deadline.)
If you’ve overwhelmed today, ask: What am I doing now? And what am I doing next?
