Mo’ money, mo’ everything
Oh, hi friends!
"Show me where you spend your money, and I’ll show you where your priorities lie.”
How true is this for you? Do you spend money on dinners out or Seamless? And does that mean you value maintaining friendships or convenience more? Maybe you’d rather go clothes shopping than grocery shopping. Or to spend money on ClassPass instead of a movie ticket.
Of course, the trends of where we spend our money can change yearly, monthly, daily. But if you’re in the middle of a career change and you’re trying to discover your own interests or priorities, it’s worth following the money trail.
“Because I’d read that chapbook, I was able to understand for the first time what language could do. The beauty it could convey. The truth it could reveal. The way it could be a bridge between my tiny inner life and the tremendous, mysterious world. I was thunderstruck that the words in that chapbook could express what I already knew but couldn’t yet articulate. My epiphany was a modest one, but it was one that changed the course of my life: I realized, quite simply, that writers were the people who had the power to make people feel the way I felt then and I wanted to be a person who had that power too.”

I’m late to the John Green love, but am finally digging into his YouTube channel with his brother. Want some perspective? This video is well worth watching. (3 mins)
Thank you for reading.
