Weekends can be weird...no?
Is This What They Mean by ‘Weekend Warrior’?
I’m not great at planning Saturdays and Sundays. I’d blame it on being a freelancer—oh, all the days feel the same!—but when I was working in an office, I didn’t plan very well either, instead blindly entering weekends hoping to emerge rested and focused without actually doing anything that felt restorative.
So, HERE’S A THOUGHT. What if we apply the same deliberate and thoughtful planning we use for our Monday to Friday lives to our weekends?
Long way of saying: Doing anything fun this weekend?
YES, I AM = You win!
NO, SAD = Plan something right now. You also win!
I had this quote saved on my desktop for a year or so. I just fact-checked it and, of course, it's not by F. Scott Fitzgerald—rather, it's from Eric Roth's screenplay for The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, which was based on Fitzgerald's short story. LOL. Now I love it even more.
