So, you're standing on the threshold...
A Short Story Not About the Weather
I was getting ready for a lunch meeting and needed to figure out my clothing situation, so I looked outside. It was overcast, the ground was wet. I pulled on boots and grabbed my umbrella.
I walked downstairs, opened the front door, and…stood there. Right in the doorway. And here’s the funny part: I stuck out my hand.
Looking out my window wasn’t enough. Seeing people with hoods and umbrellas wasn’t enough. And standing six inches from my immediate answer—raining or nah?—wasn’t enough.
My brain and my palm still asked for proof.
And you know what? There wasn't a single raindrop.
Predicting and observing take a long time, but never tell the whole story.
To find out the truth, we must cross the threshold.
Something to remember when you're cursing the person who hasn't responded to your email or the guy walking waaaay too slowly in front of you in the train station.
Feeling this today—and every day. Check out Tote by Tote for some clever and beautiful tote bags (and pizza, taco, and donut pins!) designed in Los Angeles and sold by my brilliant entrepreneurial friends Selina, Katherine, and Jason.
