Yes, I'm judging you
A Hot Take on Cold Criticism
Yes, I am judging you. Your coworker is judging you. Your mother, sister, dog, bodega owner is judging you.
And you’re judging everyone else.
Because the definition of judge is to form an opinion or conclusion.
That's it. And that is what keeps people from taking risks. An opinion.
But knowing what you want to do is different. That’s a conviction. A firmly held belief. Try stacking that up against mere opinion. The conclusion is inevitable.
Today, on this Monday, choose to let your conviction beat the stuffing out of someone else's little opinion.
My favorite temporary tattoo shop Tattly is having a 40% off sale with the code 40SPRING (ends Monday night). It’s amazing how something that costs $2 can make you (OK, me) so happy. (Lots of non-hustle-related designs, too!)
Music Monday
Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda made writers and creatives a Spotify playlist. (!!!) Listen to “Write Your Way Out” on Spotify. (h/t Charlotte Maiorana)
Bonus: I’m obsessed with the nostalgic poppy soul of J.P. Cooper’s “September Song.” Will get you dancing during your commute. Listen on Spotify.
Thank you for reading.
