It’s time to get out of bed
You Jump, I Jump
Sometimes goals are defined.
I want to beat everyone else on this obstacle course/race/triathlon. I want to win a Grammy. I want to get promoted. I want to quit my job.
Sometimes goals are blurry.
I want to write this thing but, uh, I don’t know how. I sorta want to be better/smarter/kinder. I'd like to see the world in a new way.
What if I said it was OK to begin blurry goals with no end in mind? No end, no expectations, no worries. You get to play. Beginning with no end in mind may seem shortsighted, but when you take a look around, well, you realize you’ve begun.
Hi, Monday!
Will you—
list around
or leap?
Will you—
coast on empty
or top off your tank?
Will you—
survive on the past
or stare down the future?
Will you—
flounder or
be a founder?
When's the Last Time You Cried?
For me, that was about 15 hours ago while watching Lion, the new film about a guy (Dev Patel) searching for his mother and brother in India. Rivers of tears and waterfalls of snot. If that sounds like a good time—and it should!—then I cannot recommend the movie enough.
Thank you for reading.
