A lesson from Grandpa
Meet the O.G. Hustler
“I used to deliver newspapers on Sundays. I would go out’n holler: ‘Get your papers here!’ Hucksters, that’s what they called them. I also worked at a grocery store on Friday, Saturday, half-a-day Sunday. I would never see the little paycheck. It would go to momma’s grocery bill at the store.”
Grandpa turned 95 on Sunday. I called him up. He taught me a few things. No surprise there.

You Will Want This Man to Art Direct Your Life
The above 10 Things comes from Heath Brockwell. I am obsessed with the list (and him). He’s an Art Director on the lookout for a new gig. Below, he tells you a little bit about himself.
Telling a cohesive story and driving the customer’s journey are forefront in my mind when creating an experience for brands across all media. I strive for progress and perfection in my work. To see a process evolve is gratifying. I spend a lot of time thinking about (and living) in the future. Working with clients that share a similar interest is crucial to the creative process.
In a previous life, I cut my teeth in the world of print magazines. Working with top editors, I honed my skill for storytelling. Today I work on digital projects for clients including Audible, Vogue, and Taschen. When I’m not in front of my computer, I’m at home in the mountains of Pennsylvania with my family, spending time in the garden, perfecting a cocktail, and making a delicious meal with my husband. (Editor’s Note: His breakfast Instagrams are gorgeous.) Want to work together? I'd love to hear from you: heathbrockwell@me.com
