The most calming thing I did yesterday
Oh, hi friends!
Yesterday I called my mom and dad and my brother Eric, and texted and Instagram DMed dear friends I hadn’t talked to in awhile across the country. It felt good, these little messages of “how are you” and “what’s going on over there?”
For me, this tiny action feels different and entirely more reassuring and calming than the passive scrolling and reading and worrying that can easily eat hours out of the day. Reaching out, saying hi, caring about others — that’s active.
And it reminds you that we’re all human, we’re all the same as we ever were, and we’re all just a quick message away.
“Arrange whatever pieces come your way.”

Music to Please Your Eardrums
My friends Caitlin and Scott recently pointed me toward the band The Winchesters and I LOVE their new album Train & Taxi. It’s just the kind of folk-pop-rock that suits my eardrums. Give it a listen on Spotify. And here’s "Walk on Water" via YouTube.
