But why would she do that?

Oh, hi friends!
Your reasons are your reasons.
Their reasons are their reasons.
The disconnect happens when your reasons get foggy because you’re looking over there — seeing what they’ve got and what they’re doing.
You might work a job with terrible hours that they would never take because you have $100,000 in student loan debt.
They might post 15x a day on Instagram because it’s their only creative outlet and it relaxes them.
You can’t really know their reasons (unless you ask).
And they can’t know your reasons.
That's OK!
Just don’t play the comparison game.

Good morning, friends. Time to wake up with the birds.

“I’m very much a project-oriented person. I want to deliver on each project, whether it’s remixing a song, designing a fashion collection or simply waking up and taking my vitamins everyday. There’s nobody else telling you to do it, you have to take responsibility for yourself. You have to always envision how you will make yourself self-made. How do you use your self-determination to push you through each day and not rely on other people or entities to do it for you. It all boils down to you. There are no excuses.”
From now on, I’m stealing this line from Steve Aoki and calling myself a “project-oriented person.” (h/t For the Interested)

New Song Alert!
Here is “What Are You Waiting For” — a song I wrote with the wonderful composer Shoshana Shattenkirk (who I met in the BMI Workshop last year), performed by the also wonderful Lindsey Brett Carothers.
It’s funny, we wrote a draft of this back in January for a contest, let it sit a bit, worked on it s’more a few months later, let it rest awhile longer, recorded a track, got it mastered and mixed, waited some more, recorded a video, took a big pause while I found time to actually edit the video, and now it’s here.
I share this to let you know that even if you’re LITERALLY writing a song about no longer waiting to pursue your dreams, it’s hard to actually put into practice. But hopefully our windy journey will help you stop waiting on even the smallest thing, today. Thank you for listening!!
