Oh, hi friends?
If all u do is this
Will tat Ben enoih
Those deranged words are from my Notes folder yesterday.
Almost indecipherable! My thumbs move fast.
But here’s what it's supposed to say:
If all you do is this…
Will that be enough?
Your brain might go to its own places with this question…
I was thinking about it in the context of the things I make and put out into the world (*sings* she's got a one-track miiiind!) and asking myself:
If all I do is [this session, this page, this newsletter, etc]
Will that be enough?
"Enough" is a strange proposition. Who knows what "enough" actually feels like?
But you can still ask the question and see how you feel.
If the answer is "no" — that this [anything] is not enough — well, there's a bright-green arrow for you.
You want something more.
We can frame this question in another way, too, looking at the things we've yet to do or achieve.
If I never do that...
Will I have enough?
If you never finish the book or quit the job, if you never hit a specific financial milestone or sing a song you wrote at karaoke…how will you feel? Will you still have enough?
Maybe yes, maybe no!
Ask the question and see how it sits with you.
So these are all my gentle musings as we gently close down the week, asking a few questions that might shape the next day, week, or next half-year. Or maybe just this minute. That’s fine, too.
I wasn't sure how I wanted to wind down this weeklong untitled series of newsletters (which was really fun to write btw), but forcing an answer never works.
Following the waves, on the other hand, is much more interesting.
1 Thing That Made This Week Brighter and Better
Lol taking the pressure off myself to gather a list of things for this section!! Usually I collect them organically throughout the week, but didn’t this time — so here’s my one thing: giving myself a break knowing I’ll come back next week with even more good thing-a-ma-bobs.
I hope your weekends are the brightest and best — and more than enough.
This Is Part Five of a weeklong series on taking big leaps.
Read Part One: Are you just two weeks away from your next milestone?
Read Part Two: How to believe it’s going to happen for you.
Read Part Three: Picking up the cat.
